Dear Student,
Figure 1:
V = 10V
I = ?
We now have to find out R.
Resistance can be calculated in this case by connecting the two resistance in parallel
So, 1/Req = 1/5 + 1/5 = 2/5
So, Req = 2.5 ohm
This Req is then connected in series with the 5ohm resistance in series connection.
So, R = 2.5+5 = 7.5 ohm
Using V = IR
10 = I x 7.5
I = 4/3 ohm
